On August 15, Lenovo Group announced its results for the first fiscal quarter of the fiscal year. The main core data all exceeded expectations. Revenue was 111.9 billion yuan, an increase of 20%; net profit was nearly 2.3 billion yuan, a sharp increase of 65%. Among the three major business segments, ISG had the strongest performance, with revenue growth of 65% year over year. Among them, two data are worth paying attention to. Revenue from high-performance computing increased 30% year over year, while revenue from Poseidon liquid cooling servers increased 50% (this is the first time the company has disclosed this data). According to Lenovo Group, Poseidon's warm water cooling technology brings together crystallization from multiple disciplines such as materials science, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Currently, 100% of server components can be cooled with water, and can support 72 high-density water cooling nodes in a single cabinet, and the power of a single cabinet is over 100 kW. The technology uses a fully water-cooled fanless design of the entire cabinet to achieve 98% server cooling efficiency, and can recover 90% of waste heat and reuse, reduce energy consumption by 42%, and reduce data center PUE to 1.1. At the same time, the parallel waterway design can reduce the performance jitter of devices such as CPUs and GPUs, and improve Linpack performance by 5-10%.

At the same time, according to the business needs of different customers, the liquid cooling solution can also comprehensively reduce electricity consumption unrelated to computing power through warm water liquid cooling+heat energy recovery to achieve energy recycling. Poseidon liquid cooling technology has been widely used around the world. Domestically, the computing density of the “Siyuan 1” high-performance computing cluster of Shanghai Jiao Tong University has reached 5 times that of the General Computing Power Center, and the required computer room area is only 1/10 of the general computer room.

Earlier, the “Implementation Plan for Implementing the Carbon Peak Carbon Neutrality Target Requirements to Promote the Green and High-Quality Development of New Infrastructure such as Data Centers and 5G” issued by four departments including the Development and Reform Commission also proposed that by 2025, the PUE of the national hub node will be further reduced below 1.25, and the green low carbon grade will reach level 4A or above.
