Fuxin Dare Automotive Parts signed a strategic cooperation agreement for solid-state batteries with Jiangling New Energy and will customize and develop cell samples and explore mass production feasibility. The company's solid-state battery products have passed third-party institution puncture tests and more.

When facing thousands of listed company announcements every day, which ones should you read? What are the key points to take away from the dozens or hundreds of pages of material announcements? Are the many professional terms in the announcements bullish or bearish? Check out Caixin's "Quick Read Announcement" column, where our reporters across the country will provide you with accurate, fast and professional interpretations on the night of the announcement.

On August 14, Cailian Press reported (by Liu Yue and Zeng Chuchu) that Fuxin Dare Automotive Parts' solid-state battery development and production has received a partnership with carmaker Jiangling New Energy. The company will customize and develop solid-state battery cell samples for testing and explore the feasibility of using solid-state batteries in Jiangling's production.

Fuxin Dare Automotive Parts announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement for solid-state batteries with Jiangling New Energy, aiming to share resources and complement each other's strengths to promote the research and development, production, and market application of solid-state batteries.

According to the cooperation agreement, for development, Jiangling New Energy will provide the company with technical requirements such as cell size and performance, and the company will submit cell samples to Jiangling for testing after customization. After Jiangling's approval, they will be installed in Jiangling's cars for verification.

As for production cooperation, provided that the cost of solid-state battery packs is competitive and both sides have mature production conditions, both parties will further explore the feasibility of mass production of solid-state batteries in Jiangling cars and promote market promotion.

Public data shows that Fuxin Dare Automotive Parts is a comprehensive automotive parts system supplier and has a layout in the field of solid-state batteries. In 2018, the company established a wholly-owned subsidiary, Japan Fuxin, in Japan, which absorbed local lithium battery materials experts in Japan and dedicated itself to the research and development of solid-state battery-related products.

Regarding the progress of solid-state battery research and development, Fuxin Dare Automotive Parts stated during institutional research in July that the company's solid-state battery is mainly based on oxide electrolyte, which has the characteristics of high safety. The manufacturing process uses mature coating technology, the process is simple, easy to mass-produce, and has significant advantages in performance and cost. The product has passed third-party institution puncture tests, overcharging tests, and heating tests and can be widely used in electric vehicles, wearable devices, drones, daily consumption, and other fields in the future.

It is reported that compared to liquid lithium batteries, solid-state batteries have the advantages of high safety, high energy density, small size, and low-temperature resistance. This year, BYD (002594.SZ), SAIC, GAC, NIO, and many other battery and car companies have announced the progress of solid-state batteries and planned vehicle installation time. According to GGII's prediction, (semi-)solid-state batteries are expected to achieve large-scale installation in 2024, and the annual installation capacity is expected to exceed 5GWh.

However, there are still many challenges facing the industrialization of solid-state batteries. Dr. Chen Jun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said at the 12th Energy Storage International Summit that the cost of solid-state batteries to achieve industrialization is still relatively high, and there are many challenges in the stability of solid-state electrolytes, the interaction of boundary interfaces, and system integration.
