The news that the July Producer Price Index (PPI) was below expectations boosted buying expectations for rate cuts this year, and stocks rose in early trading. Expectations for further inflation improvement were also high for the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which will be announced on the 14th, and buying prevailed throughout the day. The market rallied in late trading, driven by strong demand for high-tech stocks in anticipation of lower interest rates.

Following the rise in US stocks, the Tokyo market started trading with a buying trend. Although the Nikkei average rose to the 36,600 yen level after the opening and expanded its gains, a heavy upward trend was observed due to a backlash against the previous day's rise. At the timing when buyers stopped, it was rumored that Prime Minister Kishida would not run for the September party election, and the Nikkei average also fell into the negative zone compared to the previous day. Trading ended with a 3-day rally, but the market sentiment was directionless.

At the end of the day, the Nikkei average was 36,442.43 yen, up 209.92 yen (+0.58%) from the previous day.
