Billionaire entrepreneur Musk will interview Republican presidential candidate Trump at 8am Beijing time on Tuesday, which could inject more "surprises" into the turbulent U.S. presidential election. Musk claimed that there was no script for the interview and no theme restrictions.

Currently, Trump's campaign is relatively sluggish, with his Democratic opponent and vice president Harris erasing Trump's lead in polls by November 5th election, and inspiring Democratic voters through a series of vibrant rallies.

Interviews on Musk's social media platform may expose Trump to a different audience, but similar events on the platform have been plagued by technical issues. Musk wrote on the platform, "I will conduct some system expansion testing before the conversation."

Trump campaign team said last Sunday that the interview will be broadcast live on Trump's official X account. Earlier, Trump's account was banned on January 6, 2021, after his supporters attacked Congress, but after being acquired by Musk, it was announced that Trump's account would be unblocked.

Now, Trump often posts on his own social platform. Since his X account was unblocked, he has only posted once in August 2023, calling for donations and showing his mugshot at the Fulton County Jail.

Musk may prove to be an unusual interviewer. The world's richest man supported Democratic presidential candidate Biden in 2020, but then turned right and supported the Republicans after the attempted assassination of Trump in July.

Musk is the CEO of the electric car company Tesla, and has launched a fundraising organization to support Trump's campaign. The Michigan Political Action Committee is currently under investigation for possible violations of state law in collecting voter information.

Trump, who has long criticized electric cars, changed his position with Musk's support. "I support electric cars. I have to because Elon supports me so much. So I have no choice," Trump said at a rally in early August.

Shawn Fein, president of the United Automobile Workers Union (AUAW), called Trump a "traitor" in his support for Harris' campaign.

The Biden administration has been working to promote electric cars through tax cuts and other support as part of its broader goal of reducing carbon emissions, which are blamed for climate change.

Republican congressmen oppose these subsidies, and Trump's vice presidential candidate, Senator Pence, said that Biden's policy only provided subsidies for the rich to buy cars.

Civil rights groups have said that since Musk acquired X in 2022, advertisers have been fleeing X. Meanwhile, the entrepreneur has also been embroiled in a series of additional controversies. He accused Biden and the Democrats of opening up the U.S. border to undocumented immigrants to increase potential Democratic voter numbers, when, by law, non-citizens are not allowed to vote in federal elections.
