As of the close of August 8, A-share three major indexes showed consolidation. The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2869.9 points, remaining unchanged; the Shenzhen Component Index fell by 0.04%; the ChiNext Price Index fell by 0.54%. The total transaction volume of the two cities was CNY 619.9 billion, an increase of CNY 27.8 billion over the previous day. The stock price of more than 2,300 shares in the two cities rose. In terms of sector performance, the transgenic, vitamin, baijiu, and movie theater line sectors had the highest gains; while the education and commercial aerospace sectors had the greatest declines. As for ETFs, the transgenic sector rose in the afternoon, and Penghua Fund Grain ETF rose 2.13%. The baijiu sector continued to be active, and CMB Food and Beverage ETF and HB Food ETF rose 2.03% and 1.96%, respectively. The building materials sector rose generally, and Fullgoal Fund Building Materials ETF rose 1.77%. The education sector experienced a setback, with education ETF falling 4.28% and a latest premium rate of -3.04%. The commercial aerospace sector also fell sharply, with China Military Top ETF, Penghua CSI Defense ETF, and SSE High-end Equipment Manufacturing 60 Index all falling by more than 3%. Overnight, the S&P Biotech ETF fell 2.64%.
