Lexin Technology focuses on IoT chip design and solutions. Its products are general-purpose chips. The main downstream application markets include smart homes, consumer electronics, industrial control, smart agriculture, health care, etc., and it has become the leading supplier of IoT Wi-Fi MCU chips in the world.
Zhang Ruian said that since this year, the global semiconductor industry has ushered in a strong recovery, the intelligent penetration rate of downstream customers has further increased, demand for digital terminals has also continued to rise, and the company's product application fields have basically shown growth.
In terms of performance, in the first half of this year, Lexin Technology achieved revenue of 0.92 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 37.96%; net profit to mother of 0.152 billion yuan, an increase of 134.85% over the previous year. Based on the reporting period, the year-on-year increase in revenue and net profit to mother hit a new high since 2022.
At this performance meeting, Zhang Ruian said, “Compared to the beginning of the year, the company is optimistic about the market in the second half of the year, so we are expanding our stock inventory.” The company's 2024 semi-annual report also shows that in the first half of this year, its inventory and accounts receivable both increased by more than 0.1 billion yuan compared to the end of the previous year.
Lexin Technology mentioned in its 2024 semi-annual report that demand for terminals in the three major fields of smart home, consumer electronics, and industrial control is one of the main drivers of the company's performance growth.
At the performance briefing held today (August 7), Zhang Ruian further stated that in the first half of this year, the volume of small devices such as smart toothbrushes, beauty instruments, dictionaries, and handheld medical testing equipment was in line with the distributed characteristics of pan-IoT downstream; while intelligence in other industries, such as industrial control, is starting from 0 to 1, and it is expected that its intelligent penetration rate will continue to increase in the future.
“Our products all meet industrial grade requirements and do not differ depending on the application scenario. Customer orders in the industrial sector are characterized by small-batch customization and high requirements for solution integrity. The M5Stack (Mingstack Information Technology) products we acquired this year meet the needs of industrial customers and will further expand applications in the field of industrial control.” Zhang Ruian said.
Lexin Technology acquired 57.1% of M5Stack's shares in May of this year. The company provides customers with a modular and open source platform to build an ecosystem around main control modules. Its products include controllers, cameras, sensors, functional modules, and development kits.
Regarding the company's future development plans, Zhang Ruian said that the theme of the company's new products next year is “low power consumption,” and it is currently focusing on promoting low power consumption products.
“The company's Wi-Fi product line has launched the WiFi 6 product line, which comes with low power consumption features. The company is also entering low-energy Bluetooth, Thread, and Zigbee product lines to further expand the company's target market. At this stage, compared to the IoT wifi market, the Bluetooth Low Energy market is larger.” Zhang Ruian further said.
It is worth mentioning that the ESP32-S3, P4 and other products released by Lexin Technology all support AI applications, and “demand for corresponding products will also grow as the AI application market expands.” Zhang Ruian said.
