US stock market rebounded on the 6th. The Dow rose 294.39 points (+0.76%) to 38,997.66, Nasdaq rose 166.78 points (+ 1.03%) to 16,366.86, and the S&P 500 rose 53.70 points (+1.04%) to close the trading at 5,240.03. Yesterday's seesaw movement by investors being oversold resulted in the market being bought mainly upon opening. The improvement in investors' sentiment, in addition to the easing of concerns about a serious economic downturn, coupled with the solid earnings reports of some major companies like Caterpillar, led the market to rise all day. High-tech shares were also bought and expanded gains. The market ended up in the plus column, although it did lose steam towards the end. In contrast, the growth market started selling more than buying due to the reaction to a sharp rebound the previous day. At around 10 am, Uchida BOJ Deputy Governor made a "dovish" statement denying speculation on additional rate hikes, leading to improved investor sentiment and boosting the core 20 stocks of the Tokyo Growth Market, among others. Both Growth Market Index and Growth Market 250 Index showed a trend of rebound dominance. However, the damage from margin trading remained and the trading volume remained around 100 billion yen.
Regarding individual stocks, short-term funds poured into Unipos <6550>, which updated its lowest price of the year the previous day, leading to a sharp rise.
