Independent Director Herbert Schmidt Sold A Bunch Of Shares In Covenant Logistics Group

Simply Wall St ·  Aug 6 21:03

Some Covenant Logistics Group, Inc. (NYSE:CVLG) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the Independent Director, Herbert Schmidt, recently sold a substantial US$1.2m worth of stock at a price of US$55.24 per share. That diminished their holding by a very significant 68%, which arguably implies a strong desire to reallocate capital.

Covenant Logistics Group Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The Chairman of the Board & CEO, David Parker, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$6.1m worth of shares at a price of US$52.05 each. So we know that an insider sold shares at around the present share price of US$50.65. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. In this case, the big sale took place at around the current price, so it's not too bad (but it's still not a positive).
