According to Sensor Tower Store Intelligence data, thanks to the excellent market performance in 2019, the total revenue of the tactical competitive mobile games "PUBG Mobile" and "Game for Peace" worldwide has exceeded 1.5 billion US dollars.

Since 2019, the global total revenue of "PUBG Mobile" and "Game for Peace" developed by Tencent has reached US $1.3 billion, accounting for 88 per cent of the total revenue of the series since its launch in 2018. This achievement is mainly due to the release of "Game for Peace" in the Chinese market this year, which currently has more than $614 million in revenue on App Store in China. China is the highest-paid market in the series, accounting for 46% of global revenue in 2019. However, since the launch of the Battle pass system in June 2018, the series' global revenue has continued to grow rapidly, with total Q3 revenue reaching $496 million in 2019.

Game for Peace went on sale in May 2019, a year later than the overseas version, but Chinese players are ahead of the global market in consumption of the series. Revenue from App Store in China currently stands at $614 million, accounting for 40 per cent of the series' total revenue so far. The US market contributed US $293 million, or 20 per cent, while Japan ranked third with US $117 million, or 8 per cent.

In terms of platform, Apple Inc App Store contributed US $1.08 billion, accounting for 72% of Play Play contributed US $438 million, accounting for 28%.

India is the largest market for players.

So far, the total number of players in the series has reached 555 million (that is, the number of Apple ID or Google accounts installed in the series). Among them, Indian players exceeded 116 million, accounting for 21%; Chinese iOS players reached 108 million, accounting for 19%; and American players accounted for 42 million, accounting for 8%.

In terms of platform, the number of players from Google Play reached 334 million, accounting for 60% of the total. The number of Store players was 220 million, accounting for 40%.

Combining the above data, Tencent's "PUBG Mobile" and "Game for Peace" series are the most successful tactical mobile games on the mobile side. Epic Games "Fortnite" currently has total revenue of $838 million in iOS, while NetEase, Inc's "Operation Wilderness" has total revenue of $915 million on iOS and Google Play worldwide.

Call of Duty, another shooting mobile game developed by Tencent, has been on sale since October, with a total revenue of $95 million.

As 2019 draws to a close, Tencent's "PUBG Mobile" and "Game for Peace" series are undoubtedly one of the most successful mobile games of the year. Although their launch time is later than that of other tactical mobile games, their revenue comes from behind. Tencent has done a lot of pioneering work in the cash flow of this series, which also proves that this kind of long-term operation strategy is also feasible in mobile games.
