SEDANIA Innovator Berhad (SEDANIA) has announced the appointment of Tun Md Raus, the 14th Chief Justice of Malaysia, to its Board of Directors, effective August 2, 2024.
Tun Md Raus, who began his distinguished career in the Malaysian judiciary and legal service in 1976, brings extensive experience to SEDANIA. His career includes roles such as Magistrate President of the Sessions Court, Deputy Public Prosecutor, and Legal Advisor to various ministries including International Trade, Defence, and Home Affairs. He also served as the State Legal Advisor for Malacca and Kelantan and was the Treasury Solicitor with the Ministry of Finance.
Elevated to Judicial Commissioner on November 1, 1994, Tun Raus became a High Court Judge on January 12, 1996, and held various positions across Malaysia, including in Shah Alam, Muar, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur. He was promoted to the Court of Appeal on July 28, 2006, and to the Federal Court on October 14, 2009. He reached the pinnacle of his career as the Chief Justice of Malaysia on April 1, 2017. Internationally, he served as President of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions and was an active member of the Council of ASEAN Chief Justices (CACJ).
