What are gold ETF and QDII respectively?

A gold ETF refers to an open-ended fund where the vast majority of fund assets are invested in gold as the underlying asset, closely tracks the price of gold, and is listed on the stock exchange. Its profit model is one-way trading to obtain profit on the difference by buying low and selling high. Currently, there are 4 main gold ETF funds on the market. The investment targets are AU9999 gold spot contracts on the Shanghai Gold Exchange.

Gold ETF linked funds mainly invest in ETF funds that track the same index. Generally, they are not less than 90% of the fund's net asset value. They operate in the same way as ordinary open-ended funds.

However, gold QDII funds invest in overseas gold ETFs and track international gold prices. The redemption process is very long, usually T+8 working days or longer.

Gold ETFs have a low investment threshold and are operated by professional fund managers. Their risks and benefits are stable, making them more convenient for non-professional investors or investors who don't have much free time to watch the market.

A gold equity fund refers to a fund that mainly invests in gold-related themed stocks. The trend of gold equity funds mainly depends on the ability of fund managers, and may not be consistent with the trend of gold prices.
