This Insider Has Just Sold Shares In Valmont Industries

Simply Wall St ·  Aug 2 19:07

We wouldn't blame Valmont Industries, Inc. (NYSE:VMI) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Mogens Bay, the Non-Executive Chairman recently netted about US$5.4m selling shares at an average price of US$303. However, it's crucial to note that they remain very much invested in the stock and that sale only reduced their holding by 9.5%.

Valmont Industries Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent sale by Mogens Bay is the biggest insider sale of Valmont Industries shares that we've seen in the last year. That means that an insider was selling shares at around the current price of US$292. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. In this case, the big sale took place at around the current price, so it's not too bad (but it's still not a positive).
