Terilogy Holdings <5133> announced on the 31st that Terilogy Service Wear, a consolidated subsidiary of the company that provides ICT solution services, has been deployed in 12 water disaster shelters in the area since June. Tokyo's Kita Ward has adopted the "Mieru Interpreter Evacuation Support Plan," which aims to solve communication problems in evacuation shelters using the multilingual video interpretation service "Mieru Interpreter" developed and sold by Terilogy Service Wear.

The "Mieru Interpreter Evacuation Support Plan" is a plan designed for multilingual support in case of disasters using the multilingual video interpretation service "Mieru Interpreter" and the offline pointing conversation sheet "Tachi Interpreter."

In the metropolitan area, it is anticipated that flooding will occur over a wide area in the event of the Arakawa River and Tone River overflowing due to heavy rain. Kita Ward is working to prepare for disasters by creating hazard maps and developing evacuation sites. To ensure that foreign residents can receive multilingual support even in evacuation centers, the multilingual version of the flood hazard map has been created and made publicly available on the website.

This time, the "Mieru Interpreter Evacuation Support Plan" was evaluated for its ability to cover about 80% of foreign residents in Kita Ward with supported languages, as well as its ability to provide interpretation support to those who require sign language interpretation. In addition, the optional feature, the pointing conversation sheet "Tachi Interpreter," was chosen because it can be used offline and allows communication with foreign residents even in environments where data communication is not possible.

Terilogy Service Wear will continue to strengthen proposals for the "Mieru Interpreter Evacuation Support Plan" in order to realize a society where people can live comfortably regardless of their nationality or disabilities by removing language barriers during disasters.
