Online ordering and delivery service platform, HohoDelivery, announced today (29th) the results of the 'restaurant confidence index' survey for the second quarter of this year. 57% of Hong Kong restaurants expect hot weather to drive an increase in takeaway orders.
The survey found that due to the hot weather in Hong Kong and the opening of the Paris Olympics, 94% of restaurants believed that the role played by delivery platforms in their business would be equally important or even more important in the future, an increase of nearly 10% from the first quarter of this year, reaching a record high, reflecting that delivery platforms have become an indispensable part of restaurant operations.
The survey also found that 33% of restaurants are preparing to launch seasonal limited-time dining options during the summer in the hopes of attracting more customers. In addition, as customers are expected to avoid dining out due to the hot weather, 21% of restaurants said they will adjust their takeaway menus to attract more takeaway orders.
Nick Price, General Manager of HohoDelivery Hong Kong, said that in response to changes in the market environment, the company will continue to fully support its restaurant partners by using its platform's data and analysis to assist restaurants in understanding market trends and developing menus and dishes that cater to local customer tastes.
The above survey was conducted from July 1st to 12th this year, with the aim of revealing local food trends and the challenges faced by restaurant owners.
