Telecom company Charter Communications (CHTR.US) announced earnings of $8.49 per share in the second quarter, higher than expected $7.99 per share. Revenue decreased by less than 1% to $13.69 billion, higher than the expected $13.59 billion.
Charter's mobile service revenue jumped 36.9% to $0.74 billion; internet service revenue grew 1.3% to $5.81 billion; video service revenue decreased 7.7% to $3.87 billion, and voice service revenue decreased 4.2% to $0.35 billion.
Charter's stock price soared 16% to $366.2 on Friday.
