Lei Jun said that the Xiaomi SU7 has been on the market for more than 3 months and has already delivered more than 0.03 million units, setting a new industry record. Delivery in July is also expected to exceed 0.01 million vehicles, and the annual delivery target of 0.1 million vehicles is expected to be completed in November.

The reporter noticed that the address of the second phase of the Xiaomi car factory was officially decided yesterday.

On July 25, according to information from the Beijing Municipal Commission for Regulation and Self-Regulation, the 0106 industrial project in YZ00-0606 block of Yizhuang Xincheng in Beijing was sold for 0.84 billion yuan. The competitor was Xiaomi Jingxi Technology Co., Ltd., which is the wholly-owned subsidiary of Xiaomi Communications Co., Ltd.

According to the sale documents, the plot is industrial land. The land area is 0.5311 million square meters, and the total construction area of the project is about 0.4 million square meters, including 0.3915 million square meters above ground, 8503.33 square meters underground, a floor area ratio of 0.74, a maximum construction height of 15.95 meters, and a total of 1009 motor vehicle parking spaces.

The site is close to the current Xiaomi Yizhuang factory. According to listing documents, the 0106 plot in YZ00-0606 block of Yizhuang Xincheng is located in the leading manufacturing and production area. According to regional industry cultivation requirements, it is planned to develop the high-end automobile and new energy smart vehicle industries. The nature of the planned land use is M1 industrial land.

In the 2024 Q1 financial report, Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing once told the Financial Federation that Xiaomi does have other models under development, but currently the company is focusing all its energy on delivering the Xiaomi SU7, and the production capacity of the Xiaomi car factory is already full.

A person familiar with the matter told reporters that the site should be Xiaomi's Phase II factory. According to the plan previously disclosed, Xiaomi will build a complete vehicle manufacturing plant in Yizhuang, Beijing in two phases. The second phase is scheduled to begin construction in 2024 and be completed in 2025. “The Phase II plant did not help this year's production capacity. The new production capacity may be reserved for new cars.”

In addition to expanding the production capacity of automobile factories and continuing to recruit automobile manufacturers at the Xiaomi factory, the Finance Association reporter discovered from recruitment software that Foxconn, located in the Shenzhen region, has begun recruiting Xiaomi car testers, but there is not much information required to display in terms of recruitment requirements.

According to the Financial Services Association reporter, Shenzhen Foxconn has an internal auto parts testing laboratory, and this position may recruit quality inspectors for this laboratory. After contacting the reporter, the other party said, “We provide services such as 3D scanning reverse engineering for auto parts, three-dimensional inspection of automobile components, semiconductors, etc.”

At the same time, the reporter learned that some outsourcing companies are also beginning to recruit unmanned vehicle test safety personnel positions for Xiaomi Motors. According to information, the job is responsible for operating the test vehicle to ensure the safety of vehicles and personnel during the test. The driving vehicle is a Xiaomi SU7. The salary for this job is 6,600 yuan to 7,800 yuan before tax, and candidates are required to be under 40 years old.

Xiaomi Auto officially announced that the national NOA will open at the end of August, and it is currently progressing normally according to the expected schedule.

According to data, since car construction was announced in 2021, Xiaomi Auto's autonomous driving department has recruited 500 technicians and acquired the autonomous driving company Shenzhen Dynamic Technology. Currently, Xiaomi has tested autonomous driving technology on the road, testing more than 200 vehicles, and the test mileage exceeds 10 million kilometers.
