(03908.HK), China Securities Co., Ltd. (06066.HK), Haitong Securities Co., Ltd. (06837.HK), China Galaxy Securities Co., Ltd. (06881.HK), and Huatai Securities Co., Ltd. (06886.HK) all rising by over 2%. For other finance stocks, HSBC Holdings plc (00005.HK) rose 0.4% to HKD 66.25, Standard Chartered PLC (02888.HK) and AIA Group Limited (01299.HK) rose 2% and 1.7% respectively. HKEX (00388.HK) fell 0.4%. China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd. (02328.HK) and ZhongAn Online P&C Insurance Co., Ltd. (06060.HK) rose 2.7% and 3.4% respectively.

Hong Kong Telecommunications Limited (06823.HK) reported a net profit of HKD 1.99 billion in the first half of the year, up 1.9%. Its unit price rose 2.9%, and a mid-term distribution of 32.92 cents per unit was distributed. HK Electric Investments Limited (00008.HK) also rose 2%. Local property stocks such as New World Development Company Limited (00016.HK) rose 2.9%.
