Wang Bohua, Honorary Chairman of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, said at the photovoltaic industry development review and prospects seminar in the first half of 2024 that the mainland added 102.48 GW of new photovoltaic installations, an increase of 30.7% year-on-year in the first half of 2024, indicating that the growth of new installations has slowed down. For the first time in four years, in March, there was a year-on-year decrease of 4.27 GW in new monthly installations, and in April, a year-on-year decrease of 0.28 GW is also expected.
However, Wang Bohua said that considering the support factors such as the relaxation of consumption red lines to 90%, the acceleration of large base project construction, the faster progress of power grid construction, and the multiple measures to support distributed development, the new photovoltaic installations in mainland China will remain at a high level.
