【每日天气追踪】美国北部的高温有利于冬小麦的收获并加速春季播种作物的成熟

The high temperature in the northern part of USA is beneficial for the harvest of Chicago SRW wheat and accelerates the maturity of spring planting crops.

The 6-10 day outlook from the National Weather Service from July 29 to August 2 shows the possibility of near or above normal temperatures in most parts of the country.

Here are the agricultural weather tips for Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in the USA, exclusively compiled by Jinshi Futures APP.

Western United States Cool and rainy weather extends from the northwestern Pacific to the northern Rockies. This rain is beneficial for crops in the northwest, including winter wheat and small grains sown in the spring. At the same time, the hot weather in the Southwest is beneficial for farming and crop growth, although there is a high wildfire threat in some areas of Arizona and New Mexico.

In the western region, the critical fire weather situation continues to develop from the Northern Basin to the Northern Rocky Mountains. Contributing factors include dozens of active Western wildfires; mostly dry Northwest cold fronts conducive to concentrated lightning strikes; and gusts associated with cold fronts or their accompanying thunderstorms. In addition, under smoky and hazy conditions, the air quality in the Northwest remains poor. In the Plains, dry weather is prevalent. Extreme heat is developing in the North Plateau, with parts of eastern Montana experiencing the highest temperatures of more than 105°F today. The northern heat is benefiting winter wheat harvesting and accelerating the maturity of spring planting crops. Sporadic drought remains a concern in the plateau areas from Montana to Texas. In the corn belt, mainly dry weather persists. Any showers occur near weak cold fronts stretching from Michigan to Iowa. After the frontal passage, today's maximum temperatures will remain below 80°F until southern Illinois. Most of the Midwest still has sufficient soil moisture to support normal corn and soybean development, although producers are monitoring recent trends toward drier, relatively cooler weather. As of July 21, the topsoil moisture in Ohio in the Midwest was rated as 39% very short-to-short according to the data from the US Department of Agriculture/National Agricultural Statistics Bureau. In the South, an almost stationary moisture band extends from central Atlantic states to the west Gulf Coastal Plain. In the Southeast, localized heavy rain continues to restore pasture under drought pressure and improve the prospects of various summer crops, including cotton, peanuts, and soybeans. The percentage of the US peanut crop rated in good-to-excellent conditions increased from 53% between June 30 and July 21 to 63%. The showers in the Southeast will gradually decrease in coverage and intensity, though additional rainfall of 2 to 4 inches or more may occur in the western Gulf Coastal Plain and from north Florida to coastal Carolina. Over the next five days, most of the country will receive less than 1 inch of rain, except for higher rainfall in localized thunderstorms. Except for late-week thunderstorms associated with cold fronts that will dot the north Plains, most of the country's central areas will be completely dry. In the West, spotty showers will be generated by brief interactions between monsoon circulation and cold fronts, except for Pacific coastal states. By early next week, much of the nation will experience above-normal or persistently high temperatures, with readings of 100 degrees spreading into the central and southern Plains.

Corn Planting Area of the United States Showers and a few thunderstorms extend southwest from the Upper Midwest. At the same time, warm and mostly dry weather in the eastern corn belt is favorable for late-season corn and soybean planting, as well as winter wheat growth.

Weather Outlook Initially, the active weather in most parts of the United States will eventually consolidate along the cold front sweeping through the central United States on Tuesday. Subsequently, the cold front will reach the coastal states along the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday, although cool and unstable showers will persist in the Great Lakes states for a few days. According to preliminary reports, the United States will breathe a sigh of relief from the continuous thunderstorms that triggered more than 500 tornadoes in May. Before calm weather arrives, precipitation in the eastern half of the United States may reach 1 to 3 inches, except in the southern hinterland. In addition, early heat waves will expand in the western United States this weekend, with maximum temperatures exceeding 110 degrees Fahrenheit and covering lower altitude areas in the desert southwest.

The weather conditions during the period of agricultural weather tips for Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in the USA are as follows.
