As of Friday's close, Tesla fell by 4.02% to $239.2.
According to reports, Tesla (TSLA.US) has suspended production lines in Texas and Nevada due to a global IT outage.
Sources reveal that CrowdStrike's (CRWD.US) content update targeting Microsoft's (MSFT.US) Windows hosts has caused paralysis across multiple industries including tourism and finance. An internal email obtained by foreign media shows that Tesla notified employees on Friday morning: 'There are currently issues with Windows hosts, servers, laptops, and manufacturing equipment resulting in blue screens for users.'
This technical malfunction had a far-reaching impact, and services were only restored after several hours of interruption. Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated on the social media platform X: 'We have removed CrowdStrike from all of our systems, so no services have been launched,' but he did not specify which companies took action or the specific impact of the outage.
In response to Microsoft CEO Nadella's post about the outage, Musk wrote: 'This has paralyzed the auto supply chain.' During the night shift at Tesla's factories in Austin, Texas and Sparks, Nevada, some production employees were sent home early.
CrowdStrike stated that they are working with customers affected by the 'single content update for Windows hosts.'
