According to a report released by CreditSights, the research department of Fitch Ratings, Macau's per capita gambling spending by tourists has recovered to about 93% of pre-pandemic levels this year. It is believed that Macau will maintain steady growth in the short term, and with transportation becoming more convenient, the number of tourists will continue to rise.
The report mentioned that the mainland previously launched multiple arrangements to further facilitate the entry and exit of mainland personnel, which will help support more inflows of people from the mainland. As of May, the number of domestic visitors has reached 81% of the level in 2019, and it is expected that this year's total gambling revenue in Macau will exceed the government's expected 216 billion patacas, or may reach 234 billion patacas ($29.1 billion).
