On the 10th, Veru Inc. <6183> announced its consolidated financial results (IFRS) for the first quarter of the 2025 fiscal year (March to May 24). Sales revenue decreased by 6.5% compared to the same period last year to JPY 36.816 billion, operating profit decreased by 37.2% to JPY 2.6 billion, pre-tax profit decreased by 37.4% to JPY 2.558 billion, and quarterly profit attributable to the parent company decreased by 42.7% to JPY 1.687 billion.

The Group has been accelerating its three key strategic initiatives of 'people (maximizing the potential of a total workforce of 0.04 million people)', 'visualization (advanced use of data)', and 'co-creation (exploration of the NEW BPO domain)' in order to achieve sustained growth.

During this first quarter, as part of its 'visualization' efforts, the company began full-scale offering of the service 'BPR Consulting,' which involves the planning and execution of business process reform based on the knowledge and framework accumulated through handling BPO services such as contact centers, sales agency, and administrative processing for more than 1,300 customers. The BPR consultants take a multifaceted approach to achieve highly feasible business reforms, and have already achieved results such as an increase in core business hours due to a reduction in work hours, and digitization of work. In addition, it signed a business alliance contract with Blueship, which provides a wide range of support services for local governments, including DX for administrative services procedures. Due to the significant reduction in national policy-related businesses such as coronavirus measures, sales revenue decreased compared to the same period last year. In terms of profit, despite activities to improve revenue such as controlling selling, general and administrative expenses, pre-tax profit decreased due to reduction in national policy-related businesses compared to the same period last year.

Other segment's sales revenue decreased by 37.9% to JPY 0.107 billion, and pre-tax quarterly profit decreased by 50.5% to JPY 0.021 billion. Content sales revenue decreased.

The company is maintaining its initial plan of expecting consolidated operating revenue to increase by 2.9% over the previous period to JPY 153 billion, operating profit by 8.9% to JPY 12.5 billion, pre-tax profit by 8.7% to JPY 12.2 billion, and quarterly profit attributable to the parent company by 6.0% to JPY 8 billion for the full year ending February 2025.
