Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) has released the first official images of the Zeekr 7X, an SUV (sport utility vehicle) aimed at the mainstream family electric vehicle (EV) market in an effort to gain a larger share in a competitive market.

The EV maker shared the images on its social media platforms today, after releasing camouflaged photos of the model earlier this week.

The Zeekr 7X, which is internally codenamed CX1e and whose official name was announced on July 10, will be Zeekr's first family SUV.

The five-seat SUV features the Hidden Energy design language and is a model tailored for Chinese families, Zeekr said.

Based on Geely's SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture), the Zeekr 7X measures 4,825 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width and 1,656 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,925 mm, according to the company.

The dimensions are slightly smaller than Nio's (NYSE: NIO) ES6 and Xpeng's (NYSE: XPEV) G9, though Zeekr emphasized that the Zeekr 7X has the largest cabin space in its class.

The Nio ES6 measures 4,854 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width and 1,703 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,915 mm, while the Xpeng G9 measures 4,891 mm in length, 1,937 mm in width and 1,680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,998 mm.

The Zeekr 7X is based on the 800 V high-voltage platform across the board, which is expected to deliver higher energy efficiency compared to regular 400 V platform models.

The model's dual-motor four-wheel-drive version has front and rear motors with a maximum power of 165 kW and 310 kW, respectively, for a total maximum power of 475 kW, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than four seconds, according to Zeekr.

Zeekr was founded in 2021 and the models currently on sale include the Zeekr 001, Zeekr 007, Zeekr 009, and Zeekr X.

It launched its first model, the Zeekr 001, on April 15, 2021, a shooting brake style model aimed at a niche market.

The Zeekr 009, launched on November 1, 2022, is an MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), and the Zeekr X, launched on April 12, 2023, is a compact SUV, both of which also target niche markets.

The Zeekr 007 electric sedan, which went on sale December 27, 2023, is Zeekr's first model aimed at the mainstream EV market.

The Zeekr 7X will be Zeekr's second targeting the mainstream EV market, while SUVs are usually more popular among Chinese consumers because of their larger interior space.

Zeekr delivers record 20,106 cars in Jun, up 8% from May
