The organizer stated in a statement on Wednesday that the Republican presidential candidate will speak on the main stage of the 2024 Bitcoin conference in Nashville, Tennessee on July 27.
It is understood that the former president has increasingly emphasized Bitcoin in his campaign activities. Last month, he met with some digital asset miners and then posted on his Truth Social account that Bitcoin mining may be the "last line of defense" against CBDC (central bank digital currency), and added that he hopes all remaining bitcoins are "made in the USA!"
The crypto industry is trying to support candidates seen as favorable to digital assets, including by providing large donations to the US crypto political action committee Fairshake. This is part of the industry's counterattack following the regulatory crackdown led by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
