After the opening, the market rose due to expectations of interest rate cuts due to Chairman Powell's congressional testimony. Although the chairman did not clarify the timing of interest rate cuts in his testimony to the House of Representatives, he suggested that the conditions for interest rate cuts are coming together, prompting the market to remain firm throughout the day and expand its gains at the end of the session. The Nasdaq also received support from the rise of Apple and Nvidia and updated its all-time high for the seventh consecutive day and ended trading at a new high.

In the New York foreign exchange market on the 10th, the dollar-yen rate rose from 161.43 to 161.81 and closed at 161.71. Following the second day of Chairman Powell's congressional testimony from the Federal Reserve Board (FRB), it was reported that there are still things to be done regarding inflation, and the policy is to maintain high interest rates until there is further confidence in achieving sustainable goals, and the dollar picked up. At the same time, it was suggested that we were gradually approaching a rate cut, and risk appetite encouraged yen selling. The euro-dollar fell to 1.0817 dollars and then rose to 1.0830 dollars, closing at 1.0830 dollars.

NY crude oil futures for August rebounded (NYMEX crude oil August final price: 82.10, up 0.69).
