The 2024 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and Global Governance High-Level Meeting (WAIC) was held in Shanghai from July 4th to July 6th under the theme of "Promoting Shared Discussions with Good Governance and Good Wisdom". Shiwen Wei, the CEO of the learning and thinking education group ("Dan and Si" for short) focused on education and technological innovation, visited the Caixin media live broadcast room during the conference and discussed the commercialization of large models in education and the future trend of AI and education development.
Since its establishment, as a technology-driven education company, Dan and Si has been committed to exploring the fields of education and artificial intelligence. In 2017, the company established the first artificial intelligence laboratory in the education industry, AI Lab; in 2023, the team officially began to study AI large models; in November of last year, the company's self-developed large model—the Nine-chapter Large Model (MathGPT) was filed for approval and became the first education large model to be filed for approval. Dan and Si believes that through the power of technology, especially AI, there is hope to achieve the "impossible triangle" in the field of learning, which is to balance "large-scale, high-quality, and personalized".
"Now we have more than 3,000 research and development personnel inside the company who are doing product and technology research and development from content to technology. We are not only doing technology in the short term, but will also continue to focus on education and technology in the future," said Shiwen.

In response to the doubts about AI education in society, such as whether AI can teach students well, Shiwen believes that the term "AI learning" is more appropriate than "AI education". AI cannot replace education, but it will assist learning, become a learning companion for students, and help teachers solve teaching problems through AI technology, thereby obtaining more time and energy for educating people.
Dan and Si has incorporated ESG concepts into the overall framework of the company, daily work and education and training. During the transformation period of scientific education and quality education, Dan and Si combines ESG-related topics with teaching content, and aims to influence more students through product implementation and curriculum content.
In June of this year, Dan and Si donated Dan and Si learning machines to two schools in Jinyun, Zhejiang and Luding, Sichuan, respectively, and unveiled the 001 and 002 "Dan and Si Learning Machine Classrooms" in the country, officially launching the "hand in hand" public welfare action of the Dan and Si Learning Machine.
In the next three years, Dan and Si will provide learning machines to teachers in 100 schools, hoping to explore effective ways of applying artificial intelligence products in rural education scenarios, and let learning machines and AI technology assist in the development of rural education.
