The National Immigration Administration held a press conference this morning (5th) to announce the main data of immigration management work in the first half of this year. From January to June of this year, the national immigration management institutions recorded 2.87 billion entries and exits, an increase of 70.9% year-on-year. Among them, mainland residents accounted for 0.137 billion person-times; Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents accounted for 0.121 billion person-times; and foreigners accounted for 29.22 million person-times.
In addition, there were 14.635 million entries of foreigners at all ports across the country, an increase of 152.7% year-on-year. Among them, there were 8.542 million entries through visa-free entry, an increase of 190.1% year-on-year.
The National Immigration Administration expects that the popularity of visits to China by foreigners will continue to rise in the second half of this year. (js/cy)
