According to data released by China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the mainland mobile phone shipments in May was 30.329 million, an increase of 16.5% year-on-year, among which 25.531 million were 5G phones, an increase of 26.6% year-on-year, accounting for 84.2% of the total mobile phone shipments during the same period.

According to data, the smart phone shipments in May was 28.6 million, an increase of 13.5% year-on-year, accounting for 94.3% of the total mobile phone shipments during the same period. There were 37 new models of smart phones launched during the same period, an increase of 37% year-on-year, accounting for 75.5% of the total number of new mobile phone models launched.

Between January and May this year, the mobile phone shipments in mainland China was 122 million, an increase of 13.3% year-on-year, among which 102 million were 5G phones, an increase of 20.3% year-on-year, accounting for 83.9% of the total mobile phone shipments during the same period. The shipments of domestic brand phones was 102 million, an increase of 18.8% year-on-year, accounting for 83.4% of the total mobile phone shipments during the same period.
