Macau Tourism Bureau Deputy Director Xu Yaoming stated that the current number of tour groups visiting Macau has not returned to the level of 2019, but shows a slowly increasing trend. The authorities are cracking down on illegal tour groups. From last year until now, the bureau has detected 20 illegal tour groups and has reported relevant information to the relevant mainland departments for investigation and punishment.

Xu Yaoming pointed out that the adjustment of the threshold for distributing free snacks in casinos has not yet affected the number of tourists. The main purpose of tourists coming to Macau is not to ask for free snacks in casinos, but mostly to visit the community. Data shows that over 110,000 tourists visited Macau on the past weekend, June 29th and 30th, respectively.
