On July 4th, Glonui reported that ChipNL, an affordable group, submitted a joint letter to the new Dutch cabinet led by Prime Minister Dick Schoof, calling for increased government investment in the chip industry. ChipNL is composed of more than 30 Dutch semiconductor companies, including members such as ASML Holding, NXP Semiconductors, ON Semiconductor, Royal Philips, and ASM, an important company in the deposition process field. ChipNL requires the Schoof cabinet to invest 100 million to 150 million euros in the semiconductor field each year in the next six years. These companies promise to allocate 100 million to 200 million euros from their own budgets each year, up to a maximum of 2.1 billion euros. This funding will be used to deepen cooperation between upstream and downstream enterprises in the Dutch chip industry.
