The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) stated that the expected results of this application pilot include: first, the establishment of a low-latency and highly-reliable networked cloud control infrastructure; second, promotion of the large-scale application of automated driving in multiple scenarios; third, exploration and formation of a new commercial model for the joint investment, construction and operation of "car-road-cloud integration"; fourth, formation of a unified standard and testing and evaluation system.
MIIT proposed to establish a low-latency and highly-reliable networked cloud control infrastructure. The goal is to cover the entire trial city with continuously improved intelligent roadside infrastructure and cloud control platform coverage. Guolian Securities stated that the construction of the car-road-cloud network is expected to create a nearly 10 billion yuan market for roadside units. The intelligent connected vehicle pilot projects are gradually being implemented, and it is expected that the overall project scale of the first batch of pilot cities will be nearly 100 billion yuan. The largest scale of roadside units is expected to be about 9.1 billion yuan in 2025 and about 37.8 billion yuan in 2030.
