Uni-Charm is introducing the 'Egg Freezing Security Bank' (*)1 service as part of its employee welfare system.
Uni-Charm Corporation (Representative Director and President Executive Officer: Gouku Takahara) announces the introduction of the 'Egg Freezing Security Bank' (*)1, an egg freezing storage and entrustment service provided by Cell Source Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and CEO: Takashi Sawada), into the company's employee welfare system from July 2024.

Background of introducing the 'Egg Freezing Security Bank' (*)1 into the employee welfare system
According to the comprehensive survey on various issues related to infertility treatment and work conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in 2023 (*2), more than half of those who have experienced infertility treatment answered that they were able to balance work and treatment, and many people are continuing to pursue infertility treatment while engaging in social activities. On the other hand, about 10% of female respondents answered that they had to resign or change their employment status in order to receive infertility treatment, and had to reassess their life plans.
In such a situation, as a brand of menstrual care products 'SOFY', we want to be a company that continues to support women who want to become pregnant, and as part of our efforts, we launched the 'SOFY Fertility Check Sheet' (*)3 in November 2023.
In addition, this year, we announced a new corporate brand essence 'Love Your Possibilities', and we are aiming to create a workplace environment where employees can cherish their own possibilities and work with altruistic hearts.
Based on the above, we have decided to introduce a service that enables storage of frozen eggs as part of the employee welfare system in order to support the diverse life plans of each employee.

- The 'Egg Freezing Security Bank' (*)1 can be used as an employee welfare service.
- Cell Source will be entrusted with the storage of eggs collected and frozen at affiliated medical institutions.
- The frozen eggs will be safely stored for a long period of time in facilities with a well-organized management system and a dedicated transportation service.
