■The market environment of IX Knowledge <9753>

The domestic IT market continues to grow steadily, and the IT market, which includes hardware, software, and services, is expected to continue to grow steadily around 2 to 3% in the future. What is expected to be future growth drivers are IT investment projects for DX in the manufacturing industry, etc., services utilizing “FinTech” in the financial industry, and 5G (5th generation mobile communication systems) related to communication. There is a high possibility that increased demand for information security etc. and the emergence of new technologies and services such as big data and IoT will also support market expansion.

The company excels at infrastructure construction etc. related to cloud services. As for the usage status of cloud services by domestic companies, the usage rate has increased by about 3 points every year since 2015, to 44.9% in 2022. The data for 2024 is undecided, but assuming that this trend continues, it is assumed that it has reached about 50% (FISCO estimate), and it is thought that the era where cloud systems will become mainstream is approaching. It has been pointed out that there is no need to have assets or maintenance systems within the company, services can be used anywhere, initial introduction costs are low, stable operation, and security against information leaks etc. is high as factors promoting cloud migration.

Demand for IT human resources is increasing as the market expands and IT needs diversify, but since domestic human resource supply capacity declines, there is a high possibility that IT human resource shortages will become even more serious. According to the “Survey on IT Human Resources Supply and Demand” (project commissioned by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) announced in 2019/3 by Mizuho Information Research Institute Co., Ltd. (currently Mizuho Research & Technologies), there is a shortage of about 220,000 IT human resources as of 2018, but the IT human resource shortage will become even more serious in the future, and it is expected that it will expand to about 450,000 people in 2030. The company's business model also has an aspect of “supplying IT human resources,” and it is expected that expectations for the company will continue to increase in the future.

A system integrator, also called an SIer (SIer), is a company that develops, operates, and maintains systems. It is classified as a manufacturer system, user system, and independent company, and the company belongs to an independent system. A manufacturer SIer is an enterprise where manufacturers that manufactured hardware such as computers also began to do SI, and NEC <6701>, Hitachi, Ltd., Toshiba <6502>, and IBM Japan Co., Ltd. are representative examples. For mid-level SIers, it's both a competitor and a customer. User-based SIers are companies where the information systems departments of major companies such as banks, insurance, telecommunications, and trading companies became independent and began to undertake work not only from parent companies and affiliated companies, but also from other companies, and Mizuho Research & Technologies, NTT DATA, and ITOCHU Techno Solutions <4739> are representative examples. For mid-level SIers, it becomes both a competitor and a customer, similar to a manufacturer SIer. Note that BIPROGY <8056> and SCSK <9719> are competitors for independent SIers to which the company belongs.
