Recently, the General Artificial Intelligence Society, the largest domestic association in the field of artificial intelligence, awarded the 'Outstanding Research Award for the 2023 Fiscal Year' to 'Research Paper on the Wire Cable Raw Material Tracking and Detailed Quality Evaluation of Products Using a Participatory Active Learning Scheme for Persons with Disabilities(in this paper)', which was conducted jointly with our Development Planning Department, Yo Hoshina, and Ryuusuke Ueki, of Quoltech Ltd. The award ceremony was held on June 28th, 2024 at the Keio University Mita Campus, where a certificate of commendation was conferred by the General Artificial Intelligence Society.

The 'Outstanding Research Award for the 2023 Fiscal Year' is awarded to particularly excellent works selected from research papers presented at the Artificial Intelligence Society held from April 2023 to March 2024.
Within our company, we promote the employment of people with disabilities mainly through the subsidiary company, Sumiden Friend Co., Ltd. ('Friend').
This paper reports on a collaborative example with Friend, applying 'participatory active learning for persons with disabilities.' We have reported that our employees at Friend, who have mainly handled office support tasks, can directly participate in the design and quality evaluation process by creating artificial intelligence to evaluate our main products (electric wires and cables).
This award recognizes the importance of considering 'Artificial Intelligence in Society' as a new initiative for creating an environment where more people with disabilities can play an active role in various fields in companies and to effectively utilize deep learning technology.
