Reason for winning

Unicharm Products uses round transportation deployed in collaboration with each company.*1Through its Round Transport efforts with other companies, Unicharm Products reduced carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and shortened truck driver working hours, making a high contribution to future sustainability and earning the "Special Award".

*1 Round Transportation: This is a transportation method that increases the loading efficiency by having a truck that has unloaded goods loaded with other goods and returned to the point of origin without being empty.

Points of the endeavor

- We maintain the conventional import/export work system

- Constructed a system for checking containers overseas, and maintaining container quality during export from Japan

- Aligning with the shipping schedule, we have developed a system for thorough adjustment between parties, from unloading at the Toda Kita factory of Clave to the transfer of empty containers and loading at our Kakegawa Center, achieving a system to efficiently reuse containers based on the schedule

Through this activity, CO2 emissions were reduced by 35% (maximum of 41.04 tons per year) and driver operating hours were reduced by 38% (maximum of 1,140 hours per year).※2

*2 Assumed frequency of relevant operations: 380 times/year
