According to The Wall Street Journal, Amazon plans to invest over $100 billion in building datacenters over the next 10 years. Currently, the e-commerce giant's investment in datacenter infrastructure has surpassed its investment in retail warehouses. Data from market research firm Dell'Oro Group shows that Amazon's spending on datacenter capital expenditures (including leasing) exceeded 53% of total capital expenditures last year, reaching a new high in nearly a decade. John Felton, the CFO of Amazon Web Services (AWS), said that building data centers to support the development of AI is similar to building a massive logistics network over the past few years. The company has already launched corresponding data center construction plans in New Zealand, India, Singapore, Japan and other places, with investment amounts ranging from $2.8 billion to $9 billion.
