Mark Gurman, the well-known Apple insider, recently claimed that the company's Apple Intelligence system will establish a partnership with Google's large model Gemini this fall. Gurman also reiterated that Apple will not consider integrating Meta's artificial intelligence services.

On July 1st, Finance Link News (Editor: Zhou Ziyi)$Apple (AAPL.US)$Mark Gurman, a well-known whistleblower, revealed that Apple will announce a cooperation with Alphabet's$Alphabet-A (GOOGL.US)$/$Alphabet-C (GOOG.US)$Gemini, the large model of Apple Intelligence, is expected to be integrated.

In addition, Gurman also reiterated that Apple is considering a potential cooperation with the artificial intelligence startup Anthropic, but Apple will not consider integrating$Meta Platforms (META.US)$AI services.

Potential cooperation.

In his weekly "Power On" newsletter on Sunday (June 30), Gurman wrote that the potential deal between the two sides would integrate Google Gemini into Apple devices. Previously, Apple's software chief Craig Federighi also hinted at cooperation with Google.

Federighi spoke at the Apple 2024 WWDC conference last month, saying that "we look forward to integrating with more top models in the future, such as Google's Gemini. At present, we have no news to announce, but this is the direction we are striving for."

When it comes to Apple's negotiations with AI companies, people usually associate them with the technology giant Meta platforms.

Because reports last month suggested that Apple was discussing using Meta's chatbot Llama as an alternative option for OpenAI's large model GPT-4. However, Gurman later corrected himself, saying that he had learned from several sources that "this (cooperation) will not happen."

In this latest "Power On" newsletter, Gurman reiterated that Apple's deal with Meta was quickly rejected because its chatbot Llama did not perform as well as expected.

Gurman went on to say that Apple did not consider Meta as an option because it believes that OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic's models can provide better services.

Apple's goal is to use artificial intelligence to generate direct profits, so Gurman said Apple may ultimately release a subscription-only version of Apple Intelligence.

Last month, Apple announced its AI suite, Apple Intelligence, at the WWDC conference, and revealed its cooperation with OpenAI. However, currently Apple Intelligence only applies to iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
