Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) announced on 2024/7/1 (Monday) the non-profit organization “Open Identity Exchange (OIX)” that works on data standardization, dissemination promotion, and formulation of rules related to the operation of reliable digital IDs^*1It was the first Japanese company to join”.

OIX is a community that establishes interoperable and highly reliable digital ID guidance (rules, tools, etc.) with the aim of “a world where identity and qualifications can be proven anywhere using universally trusted IDs.” DNP is a trust framework that OIX is working on by joining OIX this time^*2We will obtain the latest information on formulation and international data cooperation, etc., and connect it to social implementation of a global data distribution infrastructure that is interoperable and highly reliable.

[Aim for DNP to join OIX]

DNP is a digital certificate (Verifiable Credentials: VC) based on a “distributed ID” that manages information about personal identity (identity)^*3We are aiming to commercialize As part of this, the Digital Agency's “Reiwa 4th Year Correction Use Case Verification Project Aimed at Reiwa Reiwa Reiwa Trusted Web”^*4and demonstration experiments with Mitsubishi UFJ Bank and Australian companies on decentralized ID connections between Japan and Australia^*5I'm working on it

Now, by joining OIX, DNP aims to establish a trust framework that OIX is working on in an advanced manner, acquire the latest information, etc. on international data cooperation, and implement a highly reliable data distribution infrastructure that is globally interoperable and is highly reliable. We will also participate in working groups to strengthen cooperation with various companies and advance VC business development more quickly.

Note that OIX was OpenID Foundation (OIDF) in 2010/1^*6and Information Card Foundation (ICF)^*7It was established by and provided the first trust framework certified by the US government. Board members are Barclays, IAG, Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions, Mastercard, and NatWest Group, and as of 2024/6, it consists of 70 companies and organizations.
