Hutchtel hk (00215.HK) announced that its brands, 3 and SUPERME, have launched mobile satellite communication value-added services. Starting from July 1st, pre-registration will be accepted, and the service will officially start on July 11th, with a monthly fee starting from HKD 19.
Director and CEO of Hutchtel hk, Agnes Nardi, said that satellite communication will play a more important role in the development of 5G and 6G in the future. As terminal devices become more popular, it will help reduce costs and believes that law enforcement agencies and workers in remote areas have a certain demand for the service.
He mentioned that from January to May of this year, Hong Kong users of the company had an average of four days of travel to the north per month, with a daily roaming data usage of up to 4GB. The number of active users using roaming data in mainland China and Macau increased by 70% annually. Therefore, the company also announced the launch of a 5G data sharing plan for mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
