About “just a snippet”

The DNP Group has always utilized the peripheral paper (scraps) that are cut during bookbinding as an important resource, and almost the entire amount has been recycled as waste paper. “Just a Fragment” is a one-of-a-kind art product that uses “scraps” generated at DNP's Kuki Plant (Saitama Prefecture), which manufactures books, and has been hand colored one by one by one by Reflect Art artists. Since the plain “scraps” generated in the book manufacturing process are bundled with glue for binding, they can be freely written on as a notepad or notebook.

In the process of making books that consumers are unaware of on a daily basis, they find value in “scraps,” they are reborn anew with the power of art, and many people are free to use them. Along with the fun of being exposed to the manufacturing process, I also convey the importance of resource recycling to consumers through the experience of incorporating recycled products into their own lives. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will be returned to participating artists, leading to support for artists, mainly young artists.

Future developments

DNP and DCD will examine ways to further utilize “scraps” etc. generated during the book manufacturing process, and will expand the product lineup they provide. We also support the development of upcycled products, various campaigns, and the improvement of brand value in cooperation with companies and local governments working to realize a recycling-oriented society, such as the effective use of paper, which is a renewable resource.
