The second LPG dual-fuel engine ship of the year.

The naming ceremony of a large LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) transport ship co-owned by our company and Astomos Energy Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as "Astomos Energy") was held at the Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. Sakado Works on June 12th and named "GAS AMETHYST". This ship is the second LPG dual-fuel engine ship and the fourth LPG dual-fuel engine ship for Astomos Energy, as well as the second co-owned ship of Astomos Energy this year, following the GAS GARNET also launched in March. The ship structure features 10-30 billion yuan products operating income of 401/1288/60 million yuan respectively.
The naming ceremony was attended by about 80 people, including major shareholders of Astomos Energy such as Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as "Idemitsu Kosan") and Mitsubishi Corp. Characteristics of the ship:

The ship is equipped with a dual-fuel engine that can use heavy oil and LPG as fuel. In addition, a shaft generator is used to generate electricity by utilizing the rotation of the shaft between the main engine and the propeller during normal navigation, which allows navigation with LPG fuel only and eliminates the need for a diesel generator during normal navigation (note). When using LPG as fuel, the amount of sulfur oxide (SOx) in exhaust gas is reduced by 95% or more compared to heavy oil burning on conventional ships. Carbon dioxide (CO220% or more will be reduced.
In addition to LPG, the ship can also carry ammonia, which is attracting attention as a means of realizing a decarbonized society in the future, and is capable of transporting ammonia if demand increases in the future.
We will further enhance our close relationship with Astomos Energy, which we have cultivated for many years, provide flexible transportation services tailored to transportation needs, and promote fleet maintenance that takes the environment into consideration, thus contributing to the low-carbonization of the supply chain.

Model width: 37.20 m
