Alibaba's supermarket business Hema announced on its official WeChat account that with the opening of five new stores this week, the number of new Hema stores in June has reached 12, and the total number of stores has surpassed 400.

Mei Xiang, the national site selection manager of Hema, said that recently half of the new stores opened cover new "Hepo Districts" such as Changzhou, Changshu, and Tongxiang. The other half are "encrypted" in the original distribution area to improve the experience of existing users and attract more new users.
