According to the WiseMoney App, lithium stocks fell today. As of press time, Tianqi Lithium Corporation (09696) fell by 3.8%, to HKD 24.05, and Ganfeng Lithium (01772) fell by 3.33%, to HKD 16.34.

On the news front, on June 27th, the main contract for lithium carbonate futures fell again below the CNY 90,000 mark. Yesterday, the main contract for lithium carbonate futures, 2407, closed up more than 5% at CNY 92,550/ton. Zhicun Lithium Group recently issued a notice that, due to the summer flood season and to ensure the safe and stable operation of production lines, improve product quality, and increase production efficiency, annual routine summer maintenance will be carried out. However, institutions believe that the actual reduction in lithium carbonate production resulting from this maintenance will be limited, estimated at only several hundred tons, but the market is relatively sensitive to positive news after a sharp decline.

Guotai Junan Futures pointed out that at present, the pressure of oversupply remains unchanged, and the news may still attract market attention, although some manufacturers have taken production reduction measures, the overall marginal reduction is still relatively low. Industry experts analyze that it is necessary to pay attention to the concentration of long and short positions and possible delivery risks. At this stage, the valuation of the lithium carbonate market is relatively low, and caution should be exercised in managing long and short positions as the ratio of gains and losses for long positions rises based on the low valuation driving allocation. It is expected that lithium prices will continue to be weak in the short term.
