Star Alliance was once again awarded the title of World's Best Airline Alliance at the prestigious "World Airline Awards" by UK SKYTRAX. Additionally, the Star Alliance lounge newly opened at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport won the World's Best Airline Alliance Lounge award in its first year of operation, and these awards were received by Star Alliance CEO Theo Panagiotoulias at the award ceremony held at the iconic Fairmont Windsor Park in the UK.

Panagiotoulias, the CEO of Star Alliance, said, "It is an invigorating feeling to know that we have once again been chosen for the Best Award by millions of our customers' votes. This not only acknowledges our efforts in making our customers' journeys seamless, but also motivates us towards further achievements."

Panagiotoulias also congratulated the thousands of employees of the member airlines across the network and continued, "This award is a testament to the commitment and efforts of all employees of Star Alliance and member airlines, which have been accumulated throughout the hopeful year of 2023. I am proud to represent them and applaud their dedication. I encourage them to continue to strive for excellence this year and beyond."

SKYTRAX's "World Airline Awards", also known as the "Academy Awards of the aviation industry", has received high praise for its fair voting system, and celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The survey was conducted from September 2023 to March 2024, with 21.42 million responses from customers of over 100 nationalities. The survey was conducted in six major international languages.

16 of Star Alliance's member airlines were selected as the best airlines in 47 categories, including the World's Best First Class, Best Business Class Catering, and regional best awards.
