According to some gambling operators, the European Championship, held every four years, tends to reduce the number of visitors to Macau as the event attracts many football fans to gather with their friends to watch the games, which leads to a reduction in gambling revenue. In addition, June is traditionally a low season for tourism because many travelers and families plan their vacations during the summer. This combination results in a decline in gambling revenue, but it is expected to be better than the same period last year.

Since the addition of eight new cities for independent travel, there has been no significant increase in visitors from other provinces. Instead, there is a trend of increased travel groups. It is believed that Macau is still unfamiliar to visitors from these cities, and they may choose to join a travel group to become more familiar with the area before traveling independently to Macau.

In addition, looking ahead to the summer vacation months of July and August, Macau tourism operators state that the Olympic Games have little effect on travelers' desire to travel.
