Futubull learned that Aurora Innovation (AUR.US) and Uber (UBER.US)'s long-term cooperation has taken an important step forward. The two parties have launched a new plan called "Premier Autonomy," with Uber Freight expected to use Aurora's self-driving trucks to travel more than 1 billion miles by 2030.

This plan is considered the latest progress in integrating and deploying autonomous driving trucks on the Uber Freight network, with the aim of using autonomous driving technology to empower carriers of all sizes to improve utilization and business efficiency. It is worth noting that Uber Freight will be one of Aurora's first customers on the Dallas-to-Houston freight route, and is expected to provide self-driving transportation services to shippers by the end of 2024. Similarly, the first self-driving trucks on the Uber Freight network and platform will also come from Aurora.

Uber Freight CEO Lior Ron said, "Uber Freight and Aurora see a huge opportunity to popularize self-driving trucks for carriers of all sizes, allowing them to increase revenue, expand their fleets, and enhance profitability." Ron added, "Self-driving trucks will improve the efficiency of freight transportation, and this industry-first plan will help promote and accelerate our carriers' adoption of autonomous driving trucks."

Looking ahead, the deep integration of Aurora Driver and the Uber Freight network is expected to create a seamless experience for customers. As part of the expanded cooperation, the Uber Freight network will also identify suitable shippers for Aurora's driving technology to optimize utilization.
