This project is a community contribution activity aimed at making people enjoy learning about the structure of food distribution and the role of refrigerated warehouses. We will experience extreme cold temperatures of -20 to -30 degrees Celsius and conduct experiments in it. After the experiment in the refrigerated warehouse, we plan to sample our products.
It's a perfect event for free research during summer vacation, with plenty of content, such as learning about food distribution, and experiences and experiments in refrigerated warehouses.

■About the history of our refrigerated warehouse business
Toyo Suisan, which began in the fishery industry such as purchasing tuna in 1953, took the first step in the refrigerated warehouse business by owning its own refrigerator to store purchased fishery products in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture in 1955, two years after its establishment. Our first in-house refrigerator was a small, 300-ton refrigerator, but in 1957, we entered the refrigerated warehouse business in earnest, starting with the establishment of a new 1,500-ton refrigerated warehouse in Minato-ku, Tokyo, where our current head office is located. Since then, the business has expanded, and it has grown to have multiple large refrigerated warehouses of tens of thousands of tons across the country from Hokkaido to Kyushu.2308_reizouko.gif
Kawasaki City is the birthplace of our refrigerated warehouse business, and even now, we have a total of 3 refrigerated warehouses as key locations to support storage and logistics services in the Tokyo/Kanagawa area. One of them, the Higashiogishima Daiichi Refrigerator, was completed in 1991, and this year marks its 34th year. In line with growing demand in the Tokyo/Kanagawa area, a new refrigerated warehouse was added to the adjacent area in 2014, with a storage capacity of 63,000 tons. It is a state-of-the-art refrigerated warehouse with improved work efficiency, accuracy, and service by introducing an automated warehouse system to meet the needs of customers who have changed to small lots and many types of products with the times.
* Storage space indicates the volume in which luggage can be stored in that warehouse. (1 ton = 2.5 m3)
