北海道美瑛町と、日産自動車株式会社、旭川日産自動車株式会社は、23日、これからの100年をテーマとし、100年後の美しい美瑛の未来を描きながら、様々なアクションを創出する「ブルー・プロジェクト」の具体的な取り組み内容を発表しました。

同3者は、今年1月、美しい美瑛の未来に向けて電気自動車（EV）を活用していく包括連携協定を締結し、この「ブルー・プロジェクト」の推進を発表しており、今月23日、美瑛町の白金エリアで開催されたイベントでは、本プロジェクトの柱となる、美しい道、豊かな森プロジェクトの詳細発表や、「美瑛×NISSAN　ブルー・スイッチの森」の誕生を記念したシンボルツリーの植樹が行われました。

大雪山国立公園や美しい丘を有する美瑛町は、今月16日、本プロジェクトの推進を含むゼロカーボンへの取り組みが評価され、環境省が推進するゼロカーボンパークに正式登録されました。本登録をきっかけに、本プロジェクトの本格稼働と、ゼロカーボンに向けた連携を加速させていきます。

【ブルー・プロジェクトの概要】

＜美しい道プロジェクト＞

美しい道プロジェクトは、道の駅びえい「白金ビルケ」を入り口とし、十勝岳など大雪山国立公園を含む白金エリアをEV推奨エリアとし、ゼロ・エミッションのEV普及促進によるCO₂の削減や、EVを活用したサステナブルツーリズムの促進を行っていく活動です。今後も、観光で訪れる来訪者、地域住民へのEV普及啓発や、EV充電器の拡充^*1など充電インフラの整備も進めていきます。

＜豊かな森プロジェクト＞

豊かな森プロジェクトは、CO₂を吸収する森林の適正な管理をしつつ、美瑛町の美しい自然環境を後世に残すため、「美瑛×NISSAN　ブルー・スイッチの森」を活動の場とし、EVオーナーや美瑛町民の皆さまと共に、100年先へ美しく豊かな森の循環をつくる活動です。

この「ブルー・スイッチの森」の誕生を記念し、未来を担う美瑛町の子供達と共に植樹された1本の白樺の木を、日産スカイラインのCMで有名となったケンとメリーの木に代わる連携のシンボルツリーとして、今後も継承していきます。

また、地域住民やEVオーナーを含むこの活動への賛同者が、この森に集い、シンボルツリーを含む木々が、豊かな森へと成長する様子を見守る定期イベントを、本プロジェクトのひとつとして実施していきます。

【日産ゼロ・エミッションファンド】

このブルー・スイッチの森の植樹や森林保全には、日産ゼロ・エミッションファンド^*2を活用していきます。本ファンドは、同意いただいたEVオーナーの所有するEVが走行した際に排出されなかった分のCO₂を集約し、国の「J-クレジット制度」を活用し資金化し、脱炭素に関連した活動を通して、社会とEVオーナーの皆さまへ還元する仕組みです。

日産自動車は、今後も、森林保全活動、環境教育、EV普及のための支援活動など、脱炭素化のための社会活動や資源などに、本ファンドを活用していきます。
