Softbank (9984), TDK (6762), and Advantest (6857) are among the top negative contributors to the Nikkei average, while First Retailing (9983), Otsuka Holdings (4578), and NTT Data Group (9613) are among the top positive contributors. In terms of sectors, real estate, metal products, rubber products, electric and gas industries, and precision instruments are among the top decliners, while marine transportation, insurance, land transportation, pulp and paper, and mining are among the top gainers.

The Nikkei Average is hovering around the previous day's closing price. Without any significant domestic clues, active trading is being put on hold. Meanwhile, the stability of Dow futures trading is reassuring for the Tokyo market.
