According to the data released by the National Energy Administration in May, the total electricity consumption in the whole society in May was 775.1 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 7.2%. The electricity consumption for urban and rural residents was 92.4 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 5.5%.
In the first five months of this year, the total electricity consumption of the whole society reached 38.4 trillion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 8.6%. Among them, the power generation of industrial enterprises above designated size was 36.6 trillion kilowatt-hours. The electricity consumption for urban and rural residents was 559.2 billion kilowatt-hours, with a year-on-year increase of 9.9%.
